To what yard signs you may display in the front yard of your property.
Horror stories abound.
One home owner got into hot water with their homeowners association over flying the American flag!
Another had a yard sign association members didn't like. So they fined him.
If you dig deep enough into the rule book, you'll find they have the power to fine you each day (not to mention charge exorbitant attorney fees) for any perceived deed-restriction violations. Things like not getting permission to plant flowers. Or as I mentioned painting your house a color not in the approved color palette. Or having the wrong kind of fence or one that's an inch too tall.
And let's not forget special assessments.
Homeowner associations are portrayed as a way to maintain the value of the Gilbert, AZ luxury homes. Which may be true. But they can also be a pain in the neck.
